“Oh God, come to my aid” was a prayer of the early desert fathers. It was a prayer repeated in times of distress. It is a prayer that we have all prayed in one form or another. It is an appropriate prayer to our Father. He loves us. He cares. He wants to work in our lives for our growth and development. He wants to shape us in Christlike character. He often helps us while we are helping others. He comes to our aid as we come to the aid of His other children. He has some truly amazing and surprising ways of answering our prayers.
