The NT tells us that we currently reign with Christ. That is, we are currently allowed to share the throne with Him. Digest that! He is the Prince of Peace. He refused to establish His kingdom with the sword; He is also opposed to using it to enforce His rule. If I am going to reign with the Prince of Peace, I am going to have to take Christlikeness to the level of the Peaceable Kingdom. I can’t sit by Him and cheer the warmongers; I can’t expect to make Him my servant to lash out against my enemies. If I am going to sit by Him on this throne, I have to have my soul transformed at such a deep level that retaliation is banished and I am comfortably at home with the Prince of Peace.
“And raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:6 ESV).
