Walking with a clenched fist is not the way you are to walk with your Lord. A fist can be clenched out of an injustice suffered, anger felt, revenge considered, or frustration over the way things are working out. A clenched fist shows tension that needs to be changed to trust. We are to walk with an open hand, releasing from our grip situations about which we can do nothing. Let go of anxious thoughts and rest in the Lord. Open the clenched fist and place it trustingly in the gentle hands of your Shepherd.
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)
