Christianity is made up of many denominations and sects, most of which recite the Apostles’ Creed. Each tends to claim biblical authority for their own tradition, resulting in the belief that “we” are more right than “they” are. So, we retreat to the comfort and rightness of our tribe. No tribe possesses all truth. We can humbly learn from other tribes. The way they weave their blankets and baskets might just give us a new vision of Jesus. We might even break out the peace pipe. It grieves any father to see His children divided, as it does our Heavenly Father. Love and pray for the other tribes.
“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.” John 17:20-21 (NKJV)
