“He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him. (Colossians 2:15 ESV). The resurrection of Jesus was the vindication of Christ as Victor. 1) He was victor over political and religious powers, those who thought that by killing Him they would be done with Him. 2) He was victor over death, Hades and the grave; He came back to life as proof. 3) He was victor over Satan; Jesus crushed the head of the old serpent with His heel. 4) He was victor in His Messianic methods of establishing His kingdom by non-violence. 5) He was victor by using love over hate as His way to win. No king dies for his enemies, Jesus did; no king forgives his enemies, Jesus did. In His victory we are victorious.
