Christ preached to Israel’s righteous, patriarchs, prophets and kings, and all those of the faith of Israel.  They heard the fulfillment of the promises and covenant that they had embraced.  He preached to Gentiles who were outside of the faith; persons from every nation and nationality, persons of high and low rank, the rich and the poor all heard preaching from Jesus, the Lord of Life.  He preached to the righteous and the unrighteous, the good and the wicked.  He preached to every soul that had ever lived.   He who preached the beautiful Sermon on the Mount preached the Sermon to Hades.

“He went and preached to the spirits in prison.”(1 Peter 3:19).

Note:  This scripture was referenced in yesterday’s devotional, and should have been in your email.  It fits today’s devotional as well:  “8Therefore it says, “When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men.” 9(In saying, “He ascended,” what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower regions, the earth? 10He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)  (Ephesians 4:8–10 ESV).
