One of the great Christmas traditions is the giving of gifts.  The wise men brought gifts to the toddler Jesus about two years after His birth.  Some have felt that giving a gift to others is a perversion of Christmas.  I think not.  Consider this, do we not love Jesus by loving others?  Do we not serve Jesus by serving others?  Christ comes to us in our family and in Christian sisters and brothers; He comes to us in the poor, the sick, the ill-clothed, the prisoner, etc.  There is a giving to others that can be worshipping Jesus, when we see Him in them.

“And going into the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh” (Matthew 2:11 ESV).
