We are born to love God. This reality calls for obedience, service and worship. This is what it means to be human. Loving God gives us purpose. Without it we are adrift, trying to find things with which to fill the longing. This love for God is not a one way street. He loved us before we loved Him. While being His enemies, He died for us. The gift of His Son is an expression of that love. To realize His love for us drives our love for Him. This relationship is the foundation for the rest of life.
“We love him, because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:19
