Sin blinds to truth. It will cause us to rationalize wrong behaviors; it will make us find ways to justify it to others. All sins conceal idols; the failure to worship is only a symptom of that. Worship will keep us from sin and sin will keep us from worship, Adam and Eve hid from God after their sin; before this the lines of worship were clear and open. The nearer we get to God the less will we justify our sins and idolatry; the more we love Him the more false loves are eclipsed. If you are not truly worshiping God, you should ask yourself, “Why?”. It is an indicator; examine your heart.
Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:34-36 NASB)
