“That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, ‘No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him’” (1 Corinthians 2:9 NLT, Quoted from Isaiah 64:4). This is really not a verse about heaven, though we often quote it as such. It is totally about the revelation of God to the human heart by the Spirit, for it says, “God has revealed it to us by his Spirit” 1 Corinthians 2:10. This is Paul’s bold response to Isaiah. This is not about someday, but now. This is about the teaching Spirit within our hearts. This is about communion with the Spirit that keeps revealing to us more and more about God, the things our eyes have not seen, our ears have not heard, nor even what our minds could have imagined. The Spirit opens up an expansive revelation of God to our narrow minds and impoverished souls. Let it be!
