“As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God” (Isa 45:23, quoted in Rom 14:11). This is much more than “our side winning.” Yes, some may wait to the end of history to acknowledge the King of the Kingdom of God, but since the NT preachers announced, “The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand,” believers have been bending the knee before King Jesus. Every citizen of the Kingdom is to live in such a way that people see something in us that makes them want to abandon the gods of wealth, pleasure and power, and bend the knee to the God who can free them from all false gods.
