When our theology is not transformative, we are just playing with academics. We may stroke our own ego with what we know, and may even feel superior to those who know less, but if what we have learned has not humbled us at the foot of the cross of the crucified God, then it is useless.  If our knowledge is not saturated with love, then it is only so much noise.  Right belief must be wed, as one flesh, with right practice. Believing must become doing.  Lofty truth must be translated into the service of a lowly slave.  The One, who was embodied Truth, expressed Himself with a towel and washbasin. It is still the way of those who love Truth to express it by service.

“And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you. I tell you the truth, slaves are not greater than their master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message.” John 13:14-16 (NLT)
