Belief follows practice, and practice follows belief. We do what we believe, and we become what we do. There is no believing without doing. There is no faith without works. There is a faith that shapes works and a practiced doing that builds faith and shapes character. Practice changes habits. It replaces bad habits with good ones. Practicing the teachings of Jesus is within itself a great act of faith and a mark of being a true believer.
“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” James 1:22
