Israel’s temple was the place that heaven and earth met.  It was the place where God dwelt.  Heaven and earth met in the incarnation of our Lord.  Heaven came down to us.  God became a human to rescue humans.  The temple of God “tabernacled among us” (John 1:14), and we saw in Him the glory of heaven.  This heavenly glory now dwells in our jars of clay so that we become “heaven-and-earth-come-together” people.  We live out what Jesus brought down, becoming “as-He-is” temples on this earth.  “As He is, so also are we in this world” 1 John 4:17b (NASB).

“Behold, I am going to send My messenger, and he will clear the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple; and the messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight, behold, He is coming,” says the LORD of hosts” Malachi 3:1 (NASB).
