Agape love has eyes to see the beauty in all people. Agape has been defined as “a selflessness that delights in the other”. Look in the faces of earth’s beautiful people. All are made in the image of God’s beauty. See it in the bud of a child, the blossom of the young and the wrinkles of the old. To celebrate this universal beauty is to celebrate God. Sin mars beauty, but grace restores it. As we mature in Him, we begin to delight in the beauty of the other person, seeing with His eyes of grace. When you do, celebrate the God of all beauty.
Father, You made us male and female in Your likeness. You are the beautiful One. You have shared Your beauty with Your creation. The unholy mischief-maker works to destroy beauty by sin. You have not yet given up on any of us. You work beauty now by Your resurrected power, and You will consummate it all with the fullness of New Creation. In that day we will bear the glorious likeness of our beautiful Risen Lord! Father, this is the hope You have planted in our breast!
