How could Jesus be David’s son and yet David’s Lord? He was! How could the Creator join the dust of the created? He did! How could He who was a descendent of Abraham be the “I Am” before Abraham? He is! How could the son of Mary be before Mary? He was! How could the One who died be the Resurrection and the Life? He is! How did the Creator of oceans, rivers and springs say, “I Thirst”? He did! How could the benevolent Lord of all submit Himself to corrupt leaders to be mocked, tried and executed? He did! How could the One from all eternity enter human pain, suffering and death? He did! How could He turn a Roman cross into an altar of sacrifice and redeem all creation with it? He did! How can blood shed over 2,000 years ago release us from our sins? It does! How could a thing as ugly as a cross become a thing of beauty? Oh, but it is!
Oh Christ, Mystery of God, Beautiful Savior, Lord of All, Shepherd of Israel, God with Us, Love from eternity, we love You; we adore You. We worship You, Oh, Holy One! Amen and Amen!
