Jesus touched a blind man twice.  After the first touch people looked like trees walking.  After the second touch he saw clearly.  This was not about the limitation of Jesus’ touch.  This story, within its context, is about the partial sight of the disciples.  They had come to see people as problems, mouths to feed and no bread.  Then they did not see clearly what kind of Messiah Jesus was, though they would confess Him as such (Mark 8:29).  It would take the transfiguration (Mark 9), the resurrection and Pentecost before they could see as they ought.  Do we see people clearly, or do we see them as problems and interruptions?  Our mission is to be grace and minister grace to them.  Do we see Jesus clearly?  Lord Jesus, please touch me again!

“And they came to Bethsaida. And they brought a blind man to Jesus and implored Him to touch him. Taking the blind man by the hand, He brought him out of the village; and after spitting on his eyes and laying His hands on him, He asked him, “Do you see anything?” And he looked up and said, “I see men, for I see them like trees, walking around.” Then again He laid His hands on his eyes; and he looked intently and was restored, and began to see everything clearly.” (Mark 8:22-30 NASB).
