Joseph said to His brothers, “You meant it to me for evil, God meant it to me for good”.  Another Joseph was abandoned by His brothers, denied by His friend, sold by Judas, and crucified by Pilate.  The political establishment wanted Him dead.  The religious establishment wanted Him out of their way.  They sent Him into captivity, beating and death.  By this He went ahead of us to save lives.  The powers of darkness meant it for evil.  God meant it for good.  This Joseph rose from the dead and reigns as King of kings.  He dispenses the Bread of Heaven, enough for the whole world; He turns none away.

“As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive. So therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones.” So he comforted them and spoke kindly to them. Genesis 50:20-21 (NASB)
