All Saints’ Day celebrates the reality that the saints (set-apart-ones) in this realm are one with the saints in the heavenly realm. We are surrounded by those who have gone before us (Hebrews 11:1-12:1). Believers are “saints by calling.” Saints do not feel like saints. They seek to live their lives in a way that is set apart from evil and set apart to the Lord. The One who calls us to be holy is the One who is faithful to form us to be just that (I Thessalonians 5:23-24).
“To those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, saints by calling… Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 1:2b-3a (NASB).
