John Henry Sammis wrote this verse in the song, “Trust and Obey”. “But we never can prove the delights of His love, until all on the altar we lay; For the favor He shows and the joy He bestows, are for them who will trust and obey.” There is so much wisdom in these words. There is misery in half-hearted commitment. Joy comes when Christ truly has all of us. There is a delight in His love that comes with total sacrifice. There is a deeper intimacy with Him after we cut the cords of other allurements.
“Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.” Romans 12:1 (NASB)
