A man bought a large arid piece of land, planning to grow plants on it. A friend asked, “What are you going to plant?” He said, “I do not know. I have to listen to the soil before I know what will work.” The earth has often been abused and molested by people who never listened to it, resulting in dustbowls, erosion, soil depletion, poisoned soil, etc. When we work in harmony with what God has made then it feeds us and replenishes the earth itself. You and I were made for fellowship with God; we are His creatures. Listen to the soil of your heart and let the God-seed take root there. Your life will become a garden for the Gardener who planted Eden.
“And other seeds fell into good soil and produced grain, growing up and increasing and yielding thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold.” And he said, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” Mark 4:8–9 (ESV)
