“Ain’t-it-awful” is one of the games people play.  It is not a harmless game.  Watch how often it happens when people are gathered together.  Someone enters a rant about all the abounding sins of the surrounding culture, of a particular group, or some action of a person, present or past.  Why do we make these speeches?  Is it to make us feel better about ourselves or look better by way of contrast?  Do we see our sins as worse than theirs or their sins worse than ours?  We are all flawed.  God loves all and is working by grace in all.  Let that change your thinking and your speeches.

“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” John 3:17 (ESV)
