The Lord had to take His apostles through many experiences to help them understand that Israel did not have an exclusive claim on being accepted with God. Thus, Peter was led to a righteous God-fearer named Cornelius (Acts 10). The ethnic prejudice of the preacher had to be overcome. Here is what Peter said, “Truly I understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him” Acts 10:34b-35 (ESV).
Father, thank You for your impartiality that includes all people as recipients of Your abounding grace. Thank You for including us and people not like us in Your family.
