It is more possible than we think for our religion to become an illusion keeping us away from real spirituality. We can have form without substance. We can honor God with our lips when our hearts, with its motives, are going in another direction. We all have dry spells and dark nights of the soul; I am not here speaking of such times. I am speaking of the need to examine our souls on a regular basis; I am speaking of our need to be searched by the Spirit at deeper heart levels than we have heretofore known.
“Lord, I want to be a Christian, in my heart, in my heart. Lord, I want to be a Christian in my heart”. Amen!
