In our evangelism, we have promoted having a personal relationship with Jesus as a way of entering the faith. A personal relationship with Jesus is a thousand times more than an initial encounter. It is to seek to live in His Presence day by day. It is to consult Him about the issues of our lives. It is to serve Him by serving the lowly as He did. It is to partake of Him at the Lord’s Supper. It is to know Him as friend, but more than that to bow before Him as Lord and Master. It is to know that the relationship does not wane, even if our emotions might. It is to hold Him in faith when we cannot feel His hand nor see His face.
Jesus, we are so glad we have come to know You as Savior and Lord. We want to be intentional about our relationship with You. We want to walk with You throughout our days in conversation and communion as friends should. Amen!
