Our faith is to be a living faith expressed as an ongoing relationship with our Lord.  It is too easy to rest in the platitudes of the past generation.  Religious groups have an agreed-on language that marks their tribe.  Sadly, learning this language is often mistaken for discipleship.  Being a disciple of Jesus is more than the language we might use to describe it.  It is a present trust and ongoing confidence in our risen Lord.  Because He lives, our faith is infused with His life in a vital living hope.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” 1 Peter 1:3 (ESV)
