Real thanksgiving begins as gratitude in the mind and heart. Gratitude is the spring, and thanksgiving is the overflow. When there is gratitude in the heart, music will arise. It wells up as songs of praise. Gratitude washes our eyes and changes how we see our circumstances. When gratitude flows into our narrative, our story changes for the better. When it flows out of our well, the water tastes better to us and to others who drink from our well.
“I will give thanks to You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, And will glorify Your name forever.” Psalm 86:12 (NASB)
