It takes more than positive thinking to live the way of Christ. Faith is not pumping up our mental attitude in order to get through. It is resting in the One who has totally committed Himself to us. We can be confident in Him. That is what gives us assurance. “But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy.” Psalm 5:11a (NRSV). That is how He makes sad folks glad, weak folks strong and lifts the poor from the ash heap.
