“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a flashlight to my path” Psalm 119:105 (Paraphrase). There is something about walking in the dark and not being able to see where you are going that is very frightening. Walking in the dark is fraught with danger. God knows that! So, in love, He has given us the light of His words. Words that say, “Don’t go there!” “Here is a better way!” “It looks good, but it leads to a deep pit!” “Stay away! It is for your own good!” “Let Me walk with you!” “Cheer up, I will never leave you!” Read the Book! Use the Flashlight! See the path!
