In real time, wilderness words sounded like these: “The food is bad”.  “Now Egypt, it really had some tasty food.”  “The sun is hot.”  “The desert is dry.”  “We left a good life for this?”   After they came through the wilderness they said,  “We had water to drink from a rock”.  “We had bread from heaven to eat”.  “Our shoes did not wear out.”  “Our God guided us by a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night.”  “We inherited promises.”  We do not have enough perception to judge our lives by where we are at the moment.  We must wait and see what God is birthing out of it.

“He spread out a cloud as a covering, and a fire to give light at night.  They asked, and he brought them quail and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.   He opened the rock, and water gushed out; like a river it flowed in the desert.   For he remembered his holy promise given to his servant Abraham.” Psalm 105:39-42 (NIV)
