God in pursuit of fallen man is called grace. Restored man in the pursuit of God is called holiness. God’s movements toward us need to be matched by our movements toward Him. Christ in love pursues us, washes us and makes us ready for union with Him. Pursue this union in its fullness. “Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord” Heb 12:14 (NASB). Lay hold of that for which Christ laid hold of you (Phil 3:12).
