We sing and ask the Lord to draw us nearer to Him.  We say that is what we want.  I have found that when we do the righteous actions He commands, we find Him near.  When we forgive and show mercy, He is near.  He is really into forgiveness and mercy.  When we love and pray for our enemies, He is near.  He shows up in that.  When we reach out in compassion, kindness and sharing, we find His hand is reaching to us.  When we make disciples, His presence is overflowing!

“Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 (MSG)
