We must not serve for our glory, for God will not share His glory with another.  We do not serve for acclaim, nor what we deem as success.  Not for the reward that we might receive, not for our inner satisfaction, but we serve for His approval alone.  Father, my ambition is to faithfully serve You and give You the glory and praise for all that gets done.  With You as my Helper, we can accomplish much. My desire is to please You, then I will be pleased.

“By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God.  And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” Hebrews 11:5-6 (ESV)
