I was a slave, and He set me free.  How will I use this freedom?  I will use this freedom in love to serve my Master, the One who freed me.  I will not go out on my own from Him.  I will ask Him to pierce my ear, so that all will know that I am His slave.  How could I leave my Father’s house and go out from Him?  How could I not give my life for the One who saved my life?  I can never fully repay Him, but I can serve Him.  I can love Him and worship Him with all my heart, soul, mind and strength.

“You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God redeemed you; therefore I command you this today. It shall come about if he (a slave) says to you, ‘I will not go out from you,’ because he loves you and your household, since he fares well with you; then you shall take an awl and pierce it through his ear into the door, and he shall be your servant forever. Also you shall do likewise to your maidservant.”  Deut 15:15-17 (NASB)
