God promised that all the earth would be blessed through the seed of Abraham.  Paul makes it clear that this seed is Christ Himself.  He is the One who has come to bless the world.  Seed is “sperma” in the Greek from which we get sperm.  It is the same word for seed used in 1 John 3:9, “No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed (sperma) abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God.” 1 John 3:9 (ESV)  The earth was cursed because of sin and all the world is blessed by the Seed Christ, through which we are born of God.  This Seed is in us and is ours to sow for the blessing of the world.

“Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say, ‘And to seeds,’ as referring to many, but rather to one, ‘And to your seed,’ that is, Christ.” Galatians 3:16 (NASB)
