They “were at their wits’ end. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, And He brought them out of their distresses.”  The storm is great.  The vessel is about to be swamped.  No hope is in sight.  You are at your wits’ end.  You have no answer for your plight.  All you have tried has failed.  You cry out to the Lord.  Your prayers are desperate.  The One who loves you comes to your aid and sees you through.  He brings your little boat to a calm haven.  You bow in worship.

“They reeled and staggered like a drunken man, And were at their wits’ end.   Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, And He brought them out of their distresses.  He caused the storm to be still, So that the waves of the sea were hushed.  Then they were glad because they were quiet, So He guided them to their desired haven.  Let them give thanks to the LORD for His lovingkindness, And for His wonders to the sons of men!  Let them extol Him also in the congregation of the people, And praise Him at the seat of the elders.” Psalm 107:27-32 (NASB)
