We love devotional thoughts that give us comfort.  There are certainly places and times for that.  But sometimes our devotional thoughts should disturb us, call us out of lethargy, and bring us to a radical new beginning.  Sometimes we need to be confronted about our comfort to move out in uneasy ways to the place of rugged obedience.  Sometimes we need to hear Him say, “Oh you hypocrite!  When will you awake to seek first the Kingdom?  When will you sell out and give me everything?”

“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you shut off the kingdom of heaven from people; for you do not enter in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.” Matthew 23:13 (NASB)
