The early church was “praising God and having favor with all the people” (Acts 2:47).  At a time when the powers that be were persecuting believers, there were people who were open and receptive to them.  The common people were drawn to them, as they had been to their Lord.  If we would win folks to our Lord, we must abandon harsh and condemning rhetoric.  We must “be as wise as serpents and as harmless as doves” (Mt 10:16).  The fruit of the Spirit in us is winsome.  Something must be seen in how we relate to each other that draws the lost to the Savior.

“They followed a daily discipline of worship in the Temple followed by meals at home, every meal a celebration, exuberant and joyful, as they praised God. People in general liked what they saw. Every day their number grew as God added those who were saved” Acts 2:46-47 (MSG).
