John the baptizer was not a miracle worker.  He was a preacher of repentance.  He was a voice in the wilderness whose whole life and ministry pointed to Jesus.  Just because you have no miracle that you can claim God performed through you does not make you a failure.  The ultimate question is, “Does your life point people to Jesus?”  The person whose life does this has not lived in vain.

“Then Jesus went back across the Jordan to the place where John had been baptizing in the early days. Here he stayed and many people came to him. They said, ‘Though John never performed a miraculous sign, all that John said about this man was true.’ And in that place many believed in Jesus” John 10:40-42 (NIV).
