Our devotional and worship times have their routines and their rituals.  This is the way of developing good habits.  Sometimes the routine is interrupted with a surprising sense of joy when the fountain of the Spirit overflows.  That does not happen everyday, nor should we expect it.  But the regular times give structure and opportunity for unusual worship moments.  Some people are cued only for the unusual and miss the strength and character that daily routine can give.

“See, I have longed for your precepts; in your righteousness give me life.  Let your steadfast love come to me, O LORD, your salvation according to your promise.” Psalm 119:40-41 (NRSV)
