“Where I’m going,” replied Jesus, “you can’t follow me just now. You will follow later, though.” John 13:36 (KNT). The ultimate plan is to follow Jesus. How that plays out in our lives has lots to do with unfolding events and God’s timing. Peter did not know what “follow me” would actually mean until it culminated in the event of his own crucifixion. Our life is in the unfolding purposes of the One who has His hands on us. Leave the timing to God and just keep following.
