God’s Word goes out as a servant on a mission (Isaiah 55:10-11).  It does God’s work wherever it goes.  The Spirit goes with it.  It does not bounce back to the Sender as an empty echo.  It is not returned as undeliverable.  It returns bearing fruit.  It returns by testimonies and praises.  The Word goes out because the Father wants the world to know His Son.  He testifies about the Son (John 8:18).  The Word brings back to the Father all who have come to believe in the Son.  This is one of the beauties of Holy Scripture.

“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”  Isaiah 55:10-11 (ESV)
