God has shown us what He is like in Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus said, “If you have seen me, you have seen the Father” (Jn 14:9). If you really want to get to know the Father, then gaze long and hard at Jesus. Not only gaze at Him, walk with Him, and you will know what it is to walk with the Father. Do the deeds of Jesus, and you will sense the Father is near. Read about Him in the Gospels. Meditate on Him. Talk to Him in prayer. Be alone with Him. Be quiet before Him. You will then know your Father.
