As our Father has pity for His children so we are to have pity for each other.  Pity is not a bad thing.  The right kind of pity does not look down on another as pitiful.  Pity is compassion that calculates the fragility of life.  Our eyes tell the story.  Look into the eyes of another and you will often see a fragile soul.  You may see abuse, pain, rejection, sorrow, grief, sadness, heartache, insecurity, loneliness and a vulnerable soul.  Pity is love that senses another’s vulnerability and seeks to give a healing touch.

“As a father pities his children, So the LORD pities those who fear Him. For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.” Psalm 103:13-14 (NKJV)
