The goal of a holy person is to unite sinful persons to holy God. This was the goal of the holiest man who ever walked among us. Holiness that falls into legalism tends to condemn sinners. Holiness is at its best when it is loving on sinners. It is at its worse when it is bashing sinners. Holiness expresses itself by loving God with its whole being and its neighbor as itself. Loving others from a pure heart is Jesus’ plan for us.
“Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart, 1 Peter 1:22 (NASB).
