We like to write our own faith and declare, “This is what I believe…” It is often a pale imitation of what was given to us by the “Author and Perfecter of our faith” (Heb 12:2). Nothing like “the faith once delivered to the saints” (Jude 3) for which the apostles laid down their lives. The test is not perfect knowledge of truth but full surrender to it. Jesus Messiah is more than someone in whom we believe, for He is writing His truth through our lives, as He rewrites our story.
“Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test?” 2 Corinthians 13:5 (NASB)
