Addiction is slavery. You know what got you there, even though you did not think it would. Now you deal with the tears. Don’t let them be tears of despair; let them be tears of intercession. Cry out to the Lord. Seek His help. You are powerless to free yourself. You need One stronger than you who can come to your aid. Confess all to Him and your confidants. Stay the course. Avoid the old habits and pitfalls. Shed tears for others who are in the same boat. Come to the place that your pain and tears can be healing to another.
Father, free us from all things to which we have allowed ourselves to be chained. Bring us to places of new freedom and victory. Amen.
