Songs are a turn-off to God if the singer is not working for righteousness and justice.  God said, ”Take away from Me the noise of your songs; I will not even listen to the sound of your harps. But let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream” Amos 5:23-24, (NASB).  Our “spiritual service of worship” is to present our “bodies a living sacrifice” (Rom 12:1).  Without real acts of righteousness that demonstrate loving God, our songs are “a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal” (1 Cor 13:1).  May we live in compassionate and righteous ways so that our songs will be real worship.

“Even though you offer up to Me burnt offerings and your grain offerings, I will not accept them; And I will not even look at the peace offerings of your fatlings.” Amos 5:22 (NASB)
