The act of sin is an act of rebellion against the commands of the Lord.  Rebellion does something in our spirit that brings disease to the soul.  By faith, the offering of Jesus on the cross forgives sin, then the Spirit of Jesus, our Great Physician, comes to reside in us to heal our souls from the damage done by sinning.  This includes a rehabilitation process of training damaged spiritual muscles.  We practice becoming obedient servants, no longer rebels.  In this way, grace works in our lives, restoring us to be like the Obedient Son.

“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits–who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion” Psalm 103:2-4.
