We must give up our quest for power and surrender to the authority and power of the kingdom of God.  There is more satisfaction in working with God’s power than running around manipulating people as if we are some great power.  Power and control is what the kingdoms of this world are about, but not the kingdom of God.  Jesus reminded His disciples that this is not permitted in His kingdom.  Humble servant leadership is His model.

(To Simon the magician, hungry for power and control).  But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money!  You have no part or portion in this matter, for your heart is not right before God.” Acts 8:20-21 (NASB)
